Description
Heavy Duty Build, Compact Footprint
For industrial facilities with high-density racking, finding a step that is both robust enough for heavy daily use and narrow enough to fit down the aisle is a challenge. The Steptek Heavy Duty Narrow Base Model is the engineered solution. Unlike the standard “Stability Base” model which features splayed legs, this unit utilizes a straight base frame. This design significantly reduces the overall footprint, allowing you to deploy a fully certified, heavy-duty access platform into confined spaces where other industrial steps simply wouldn’t fit.
Uncompromised Box-Section Strength
“Narrow” does not mean “lightweight”. This range is hand-built in the UK from welded heavy gauge steel box section and bar. This construction offers superior rigidity compared to standard tubular steps, eliminating the “wobble” often associated with working at height. It is fully certified to BS EN 131-7 and rated for a 150kg Safe Working Load, having been rigorously overload tested to 200kg.
The “Hand Lock” Safety System
To ensure absolute stability before climbing, the unit features a Hand Lock Lever Anchorage.
-
Locking: Pulling the manual lever retracts the front castors and lowers the unit onto protective grey non-marking rubber feet.
-
Safety Bar: The lever is linked to a Safety Warning Bar. When the steps are mobile (unlocked), this bar protrudes in front of the stairs, physically deterring users from climbing. When locked, the bar retracts to allow safe access.
Commercial Specification
The range is finished in a professional blue epoxy with safety yellow moving parts. Despite the narrow frame, the user experience remains premium with a spacious 540mm x 500mm top platform and a 490mm tread width. You can customize the unit with two tread surface options:
-
Ribbed Rubber: For secure grip in clean, dry environments.
-
Expamet: An expanded metal mesh that cuts through grease or water for traction in harsh conditions.
Easy Logistics
We understand that installing large equipment can be difficult. To solve this, all models with 10 treads and above are supplied in two halves, allowing them to be easily transported through standard doorways and assembled in position.
