Secure Your Hazardous Materials
Storing corrosive substances like acids and alkalis demands uncompromising safety solutions. The Redditek Corrosive Storage Cabinets are engineered to provide maximum security and compliance for your workplace. Whether you are outfitting a laboratory, manufacturing floor, or educational facility, these cabinets ensure your hazardous liquids are safely contained, mitigating the risk of workplace accidents and preventing unauthorised access.
- Compliance: Supplied complete with compliant warning stickers to ensure instant hazard identification in the workplace.
- Features: Intelligent shelf trays feature punched drain holes to safely direct spillages into a removable base sump.
- Construction: Strong welded 20swg steel construction finished in a highly visible white (RAL9003) powder coating.
- Security: Maximum security provided by lever lock handles with 2-rod top and bottom locking, supplied with 2 keys.
- Flexibility: Standard shelf capacity of 35kgs, with an optional heavy-duty 80kgs upgrade available.
Robust & Secure Construction
Built to withstand the rigorous demands of industrial environments, these cabinets feature a strong welded 20swg steel construction. The robust exterior is finished in a durable white (RAL9003) powder coating, complete with clear warning stickers to ensure your staff are immediately aware of the cabinet’s contents. Security is paramount when storing corrosives, which is why each unit is fitted with premium lever lockhandles featuring a 2-rod locking mechanism that secures both the top and bottom of the doors. Two keys are provided for strictly controlled access.
Intelligent Spillage Management
Accidental leaks can be disastrous, damaging infrastructure and posing severe health risks. To solve this, the internal shelf trays are intelligently designed with punched drain holes. This ensures that any unexpected spillages immediately and safely drain down into the base sump. Furthermore, the sump itself is entirely removable, allowing for the convenient and safe clean-up of spills without risking damage to the cabinet’s main structure.
Flexible Storage Capacities
Designed to handle heavy chemical containers, the standard shelves offer a reliable capacity of 35kgs each, with a maximum overall cabinet load of 250kgs. If your daily operations require the storage of heavier bulk liquids, we offer an optional extra to upgrade the shelves to an 80kgs capacity, raising the maximum cabinet limit to a massive 400kgs.

FAQ's
Question |
Technical Answer |
|---|---|
| What does COSHH stand for and why do I need a cabinet? | COSHH stands for the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health. You need a specialised cabinet to safely contain corrosive, toxic, or irritant substances, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety laws. |
| What is a sump and what capacity should it have? | A sump is a leak-proof base designed to catch spills. UK regulations require the sump to hold 110% of the largest container or 10% of the total volume stored, whichever is greater. |
| What do the different cabinet colours mean? | Yellow: Flammables White: Acids and Alkalis Red: Flammables or Chemicals Green: Pesticides & Agrochemicals Grey: General Hazardous |
| Can I store flammables and acids in the same cabinet? | NO. You must segregate incompatible substances. Storing flammables with corrosive acids can lead to dangerous chemical reactions or compromise the cabinet’s integrity. |
| How much flammable liquid can I store? | DSEAR regulations recommend a maximum of 50 litres for highly flammable liquids (flashpoint < 23°C) and up to 250 litres for other flammable liquids within a workroom. |
| Are these COSHH cabinets fire-rated? | Our QMP Steel units are Reaction to Fire EN 13501-1 certified and have a performance of A2, s2, d0. |
| Do pesticide cabinets require ventilation? | Yes. Our pesticide cabinets feature louvred doors to allow for natural ventilation, preventing the dangerous build-up of vapours and fumes. |
| Can COSHH cabinets be used outdoors? | Steel cabinets are for indoor use. For outdoors, we recommend our Hazardous Bins or Chests. We can also provide quotes for galvanised cabinets. |
| Should the cabinet be bolted to the floor? | Highly Recommended. Floor-bolting tall cabinets prevents tipping, especially when heavy liquid containers are stored on upper shelves. |
| Are the shelves adjustable? | Yes. Shelves can be moved in 25mm increments to accommodate various container heights while maintaining structural safety. |
| Manufacturing & Delivery | All HSE Store COSHH cabinets are British-made and delivered fully assembled to ensure they meet safety integrity standards from day one. |
| Regulations (DSEAR) | Our cabinets help you meet DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) requirements for fire-resistant, secure storage. |
