Solve the problem of accessing high racking in confined spaces with the Heavy Duty Narrow Warehouse Steps – Rubber Treads. Expertly manufactured in the UK by Redhill, this specialist range is engineered with a compact 500mm tread and platform width, making it the perfect solution for archives, libraries, and high-density stockrooms where standard industrial steps are too bulky to operate.

These steps are built to rigorous BS EN 131-7 safety standards and are incredibly robust. While rated with a standard Safe Working Load (SWL) of 150kg, they are overload tested to 200kg, ensuring exceptional structural integrity and peace of mind.

The unique geometry of this range balances a slim working profile with the stability needed for extreme heights.

Slim Working Profile: The 500mm platform width allows operators to work comfortably in restricted spaces. Please note: To maintain stability, the overall base width increases slightly as the step height increases.
Maximum Reach: Available in sizes up to 15 treads, offering safe access to top shelves with an average working height of up to 4.95 metres.

Heavy-Duty Safety Features

To ensure stability, these steps are equipped with a commercial-grade Hand Lock Anchorage system.

Secure Braking: The side lever engages the front feet, lifting the castors to create a completely static platform before climbing.
Protection: Fitted with a robust handrail and a safety chain at the platform entry, ensuring the operator is enclosed and secure while working at height.
Surface: Fitted with Ribbed Rubber Treads as standard, providing a high-grip, comfortable surface that protects interior flooring.

Delivery & Assembly

Mobile: Glides on 2 x 100mm nylon swivel castors and 2 x 100mm fixed rear castors.
Construction: Fully welded tubular steel frame with a durable Blue epoxy finish.
Important Note: To ensure safe and cost-effective transportation, models with 10 treads and above are supplied in two parts and require simple on-site assembly.

Can these be used outdoors?	We strongly advise against using standard Steptek units outside. For wet or outdoor environments, you require galvanised warehouse steps to prevent rust and ensure safety. Contact us for a quote on galvanised models.
What safety standards do these meet?	Our BSI Steptek range is manufactured to meet EN131-7 standards for mobile leaning ladders and steps. They feature high handrails and kickboards to ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations.
What is the maximum weight capacity?	Most of our standard mobile warehouse steps have a Safe Working Load (SWL) of 150kg. This accommodates a single user plus tools or stock items. Always check the specific product data sheet for heavy-duty variants.
Do they arrive assembled?	All of our Steptek units are delivered fully welded and ready for immediate use. Larger warehouse steps, usually 10 tread and above, will be supplied in 2 parts for on site assembly, this is for transportation reasons.
How does the braking or safety system work?	Our mobile steps use either a side hand lock lever and anti ascent bar or weight-activated retractable castors. Both systems ensure that once the user applies weight or engages the lock, the rubber feet grip the floor securely to prevent movement.
Are they safe for mezzanine floors?	Yes. Steptek steps are designed with non-marking rubber feet and high-quality castors, making them suitable for standard warehouse concrete, mezzanine flooring, and commercial surfaces without causing damage.
