Description

Description

Our galvanised hazardous container store is the ultimate solution for safely storing hazardous materials. Constructed from high-quality galvanised steel, this robust storage unit offers unparalleled protection and longevity. The side and roof panels are meticulously manufactured from 0.6mm cold-rolled corrugated galvanised steel, ensuring exceptional strength and resilience against the elements and potential impacts.

For enhanced durability, the container features additional strength from a structural frame fitted at either end and the centre. This reinforcement ensures the container remains stable and secure, even under heavy loads or in adverse weather conditions. The sump, constructed from 2mm structural grade galvanised steel, is another testament to the unit’s sturdy construction. This sump effectively contains any potential leaks, ensuring a safe environment for your hazardous materials.

Security is paramount when dealing with hazardous substances, and our container does not disappoint. It is fitted with a Kale mortise lock with a cylinder (152R), providing a high level of security to prevent unauthorised access. The double doors are equipped with three upper and three lower vents each, ensuring adequate ventilation while maintaining the container’s integrity. This design helps to prevent the build-up of dangerous fumes inside the unit.

To further protect your investment, the sump is fitted with base plinths that keep it out of contact with the floor. This feature prevents corrosion and extends the lifespan of the container. Additionally, the container comes complete with two shelves on either side, providing ample storage space for various hazardous materials. The shelves are designed to maximise the organisation and accessibility of your stored items.

For ease of transportation, the container is equipped with fork lifting pockets underneath. This feature allows for straightforward and secure handling, making it easy to move the container to its desired location. Whether you need to reposition the unit on-site or transport it to a different location, these fork lifting pockets offer unmatched convenience.

When ordering this container, it is crucial to consider the delivery and installation requirements. This unit will be delivered by an articulated vehicle, so please ensure that a vehicle of this size can access your premises before placing your order. Additionally, you will need an appropriately sized forklift or Hiab unit to offload the container from the delivery vehicle. If you do not have the necessary equipment, we can provide a quote for an offloading service, as our standard delivery does not include offloading insurance.

Lastly, to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of your galvanised hazardous container store, it must be positioned on a solid, level surface. Ideally, this surface should be concrete, approximately 150mm in depth and 100mm larger overall than the unit. This foundation will prevent the container from settling unevenly, ensuring that it remains stable and secure throughout its use. For any additional questions or to receive a quote, please do not hesitate to contact us.

FAQ's

Question
Technical Answer
What does COSHH stand for and why do I need a cabinet? COSHH stands for the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health. You need a specialised cabinet to safely contain corrosive, toxic, or irritant substances, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety laws.
What is a sump and what capacity should it have? A sump is a leak-proof base designed to catch spills. UK regulations require the sump to hold 110% of the largest container or 10% of the total volume stored, whichever is greater.
What do the different cabinet colours mean? Yellow: Flammables
White: Acids and Alkalis
Red: Flammables or Chemicals
Green: Pesticides & Agrochemicals
Grey: General Hazardous
Can I store flammables and acids in the same cabinet? NO. You must segregate incompatible substances. Storing flammables with corrosive acids can lead to dangerous chemical reactions or compromise the cabinet’s integrity.
How much flammable liquid can I store? DSEAR regulations recommend a maximum of 50 litres for highly flammable liquids (flashpoint < 23ยฐC) and up to 250 litres for other flammable liquids within a workroom.
Are these COSHH cabinets fire-rated? Our QMP Steel units are Reaction to Fire EN 13501-1 certified and have a performance of A2, s2, d0.
Do pesticide cabinets require ventilation? Yes. Our pesticide cabinets feature louvred doors to allow for natural ventilation, preventing the dangerous build-up of vapours and fumes.
Can COSHH cabinets be used outdoors? Steel cabinets are for indoor use. For outdoors, we recommend our Hazardous Bins or Chests. We can also provide quotes for galvanised cabinets.
Should the cabinet be bolted to the floor? Highly Recommended. Floor-bolting tall cabinets prevents tipping, especially when heavy liquid containers are stored on upper shelves.
Are the shelves adjustable? Yes. Shelves can be moved in 25mm increments to accommodate various container heights while maintaining structural safety.
Manufacturing & Delivery All HSE Store COSHH cabinets are British-made and delivered fully assembled to ensure they meet safety integrity standards from day one.
Regulations (DSEAR) Our cabinets help you meet DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) requirements for fire-resistant, secure storage.
