Description

Description

Introducing our Large Hazardous Container, the ultimate solution for safely storing hazardous materials. Constructed from high-quality steel, this walk-in sized container offers robust and reliable storage for your hazardous substances. The container’s 3mm steel base ensures durability and strength, providing a solid foundation for all your storage needs. Designed and manufactured in Britain, this container reflects superior craftsmanship and adherence to stringent safety standards.

The perimeter of the container is fully welded, ensuring a seamless and secure enclosure for your hazardous materials. This meticulous welding process eliminates weak points and potential leaks, offering you peace of mind that your stored materials are well-protected. The container is fitted with a single cam door gear and a padlock fitting (padlock not supplied), providing an additional layer of security. You can rest assured that your hazardous materials are safely locked away, preventing unauthorized access.

A standout feature of this container is its fully seam welded sump, which is designed to contain any leaks or spills that may occur. The sump is fitted with a removable galvanised mesh grid, making it easy to clean and maintain. This feature is crucial for ensuring that any hazardous liquids are contained and do not pose a risk to the environment or personnel. The container also includes high and low louvre vents with flame arrestor mesh, ensuring proper ventilation while preventing any potential ignition sources from entering the container.

Safety and compliance are paramount, and our container comes equipped with all necessary warning signage. This includes clear and visible signs indicating the presence of hazardous materials, ensuring that all personnel are aware of the potential risks. Additionally, the container features shelving units on either side of the door, providing ample storage space for smaller items and enhancing the organisation within the unit.

Available in vibrant red, green, or blue, our hazardous container not only offers functionality but also allows you to choose a colour that suits your site aesthetics or organisational colour coding. The 1250mm wing door facilitates easy access, making it convenient to move large items in and out of the container. Whether you are storing chemicals, flammable liquids, or other hazardous materials, this container is designed to meet your needs.

FAQ's

Question
Technical Answer
What does COSHH stand for and why do I need a cabinet? COSHH stands for the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health. You need a specialised cabinet to safely contain corrosive, toxic, or irritant substances, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety laws.
What is a sump and what capacity should it have? A sump is a leak-proof base designed to catch spills. UK regulations require the sump to hold 110% of the largest container or 10% of the total volume stored, whichever is greater.
What do the different cabinet colours mean? Yellow: General Hazardous Substances
White: Acids and Alkalis
Red: Flammables or Chemicals
Green: Pesticides & Agrochemicals
Can I store flammables and acids in the same cabinet? NO. You must segregate incompatible substances. Storing flammables with corrosive acids can lead to dangerous chemical reactions or compromise the cabinet’s integrity.
How much flammable liquid can I store? DSEAR regulations recommend a maximum of 50 litres for highly flammable liquids (flashpoint < 23°C) and up to 250 litres for other flammable liquids within a workroom.
Are these COSHH cabinets fire-rated? Standard units provide 30-minute fire resistance for safe evacuation. For high-risk areas, we also offer 90-minute fire-rated cabinets.
Do pesticide cabinets require ventilation? Yes. Our pesticide cabinets feature louvred doors to allow for natural ventilation, preventing the dangerous build-up of vapours and fumes.
Can COSHH cabinets be used outdoors? Steel cabinets are for indoor use. For outdoors, we recommend our Hazardous Bins or Chests. We can also provide quotes for galvanised cabinets.
Should the cabinet be bolted to the floor? Highly Recommended. Floor-bolting tall cabinets prevents tipping, especially when heavy liquid containers are stored on upper shelves.
Are the shelves adjustable? Yes. Shelves can be moved in 25mm increments to accommodate various container heights while maintaining structural safety.
Manufacturing & Delivery All HSE Store COSHH cabinets are British-made and delivered fully assembled to ensure they meet safety integrity standards from day one.
Regulations (DSEAR) Our cabinets help you meet DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) requirements for fire-resistant, secure storage.
