Does the platform count as a tread?	Yes. When ordering, remember that the top platform is included in the tread count (e.g., a 4-tread step has 3 treads plus the platform).
Can these be used outdoors?	We strongly advise against using standard Steptek units outside. For wet or outdoor environments, you require galvanised warehouse steps to prevent rust and ensure safety. Contact us for a quote on galvanised models.
What safety standards do these meet?	Our BSI Steptek range is manufactured to meet EN131-7 standards for mobile leaning ladders and steps. They feature high handrails and kickboards to ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations.
What is the maximum weight capacity?	Most of our standard mobile warehouse steps have a Safe Working Load (SWL) of 150kg. This accommodates a single user plus tools or stock items. Always check the specific product data sheet for heavy-duty variants.
Do they arrive assembled?	All of our Steptek units are delivered fully welded and ready for immediate use. Larger warehouse steps, usually 10 tread and above, will be supplied in 2 parts for on site assembly, this is for transportation reasons.
How does the braking or safety system work?	Our mobile steps use either a side hand lock lever and anti ascent bar or weight-activated retractable castors. Both systems ensure that once the user applies weight or engages the lock, the rubber feet grip the floor securely to prevent movement.
Are they safe for mezzanine floors?	Yes. Steptek steps are designed with non-marking rubber feet and high-quality castors, making them suitable for standard warehouse concrete, mezzanine flooring, and commercial surfaces without causing damage.

Reliable nationwide delivery for all HSE Store equipment.	01. Kerbside Delivery Goods are delivered to the kerbside only unless otherwise agreed. It is the buyer’s responsibility to unload goods from the vehicle. Alternative arrangements must be agreed in writing prior to order.
	02. Operating Hours Deliveries are made Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). Lead times are always quoted in working days.
	03. Risk & Access Risk in the goods passes to the buyer upon delivery. You must ensure sufficient access for appropriate delivery vehicles to reach your site safely.
	04. Delivery Dates Dates are approximate. You will receive an expected delivery date via email. In busy periods, lead times may extend. If you have a critical deadline, please contact our Sales Department before ordering.
