The Jactone Marine 6 Litre Water Mist Fire Extinguisher (EWMS6MER) is designed for professional marine applications where a single extinguisher needs to address several different fire risks. Using a Water Mist discharge system, the extinguisher is suitable for Class A fires involving solid materials and Class F fires involving cooking oils and fats, while Jactone has also fire tested the range against Class B risks. Electrical risk is covered up to 1000V, giving the EWMS6MER a broad application range for vessels, marine facilities and other specialist working environments.
The 6 litre model provides a 13A | 34B | 40F rating*, uses nitrogen gas as the propellant, and operates at 15 bar at 20°C. With an average discharge time of 26.73 seconds, a filled weight of approximately 11kg and dimensions of around 552mm high by 189mm in diameter, it provides a substantial level of protection without moving to a larger-capacity extinguisher.
Marine Approval with Broad Fire Coverage

When You Need More Capacity
The 6 litre format makes the EWMS6MER the larger model in Jactone’s Marine Water Mist range, providing more extinguishing medium than the 3 litre version for applications where greater capacity is required. Its 13A | 34B | 40F rating* provides a broad spread of protection, while the unit remains a conventional portable extinguisher that can be incorporated into a professionally planned marine fire protection system.
The extinguisher features a quality deep-drawn cylinder, high-quality heavy-duty brass valve and colour-coded header, handle and base for clear identification. Jactone also specifies an operating temperature range of +5°C to +60°C, which should be considered when selecting the product for its intended location.
Jactone notes that while its Water Mist extinguishers have been Class B fire tested, this performance cannot be certified under BS EN3 because the tested fire sizes fall outside the standard’s limits. The manufacturer describes the Class B results as appropriate for situations where Class B is not the primary risk, so this distinction should be taken into account when selecting equipment for a specific application.
